Google Cloud

Senior DESIGNER - huge inc.

In 2018, Google Cloud made some changes to their platform and the need grew for an updated web experience. Google consolidated previously independent products (like Maps and GSuite) to the new Google Cloud and therefore had to create a design system that would create cohesion amongst all of them. By creating a shared design system library, we could shorten and streamline design & development time for the 200+ new and migrated pages. We worked with content planners and met with developers to understand the capabilities and limitations of our code framework. We utilized Shared Libraries in Sketch so that the library could be shared amongst multiple teams of designers and updates could be controlled by one owner. All together, almost 70 component variations were built across three breakpoints, in addition to the new global UI styles.
